Jan van Diemen is known for his drawings and paintings of sports. In an abstract expressionist style, he captures the dynamics of the athlete and his surroundings in bright colours and energetic lines. His work is reminiscent of that of Kees van Bohemen and Pieter Defesche. Although his works are sometimes very abstract, the form and the love for sports always remain recognizable. Van Diemen exhibits at home and abroad. Several books have been published about his work.
