Jan Visser Jr. was a painter of still lifes, flowers, portraits and figures in impressionist style. He received his education at the Akademie 'Minerva' in Groningen, then at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. As a teacher at the Rijksnormaalschool voor Tekenonderwijzers, he was a teacher of many painters, including L. Dooijewaard, Leo Gestel and W.A. Knip.
