Industrial scenes, factories, racing cars, but especially stations and oncoming steam trains were a favorite subject of the Czech painter Jaroslav Ronek. During his lifetime he already had a loyal following of admirers and his work is still collected by train enthusiasts. Ronek was taught by the impressionist and modernist Jan Preisler, who was affiliated with the Prague Academy from 1913 to 1918.
