The Viennese painter Joseph Kleinert studied at the academy in his hometown from 1876 to 1881. After his training he specialized in painting religious themes, also as wall paintings in churches, as well as genre scenes. Kleinert exhibited his work for several years at exhibitions in Vienna, amongst other places at the Wiener Sezession
