The varied oeuvre of painter, watercolourist and graphic artist Kees Laan includes flower still lifes, landscapes, portraits and still lifes. He painted in a naturalistic style, but he also worked in an expressionistic style. Kees Laan was taught by J.A. Pollones and was a member of the artists' societies Kunst Zij Ons Doel in Haarlem and St. Lucas in Amsterdam, and of the Hollandse Aquarellistenkring.
