Little is known about Meta Plückebaum, born Weber. This gifted portrait and animal painter probably worked mainly in the shadow of her well-known husband, the German painter Carl Plückebaum. She was born in Dortmund and then took painting lessons in Düsseldorf from the genre and landscape painter Hermann Emil Pohle. Meta Plückebaum specialized in painting portraits, children, flowers and animals.
