At a very young age, Adri Pieck received drawing lessons from her father, The Hague art teacher A. F. Pieck (not to be confused with Anton Pieck). Together with her sister Gretha, who died in 1920, she set out almost every day to draw in the surroundings of their hometown of Bussum. After her education at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam, the painter settled in Hollandsche Rading, where she died in 1982. In her paintings, pastels and drawings, Adri Pieck did not seek connection with certain artistic movements. Decisive for her work are refined naturalism with an emphasis on elegant lines and clarity of color.
