Diederik 'Dirk' Meesters lived and worked in The Hague, Dordrecht, Heerlen and Heemstede. He was a student of the Academy in Rotterdam. Meesters painted and drew in a naturalistic-realistic style, preferably stable interiors with horses. He also produced scenes with shell fishermen, landscapes (with cattle) and good portraits.
