George Wildschut was educated at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam, where he, among others, was taught by Antoon Derkinderen. Wildschut painted and drew in a robust impressionistic style a wide range of subjects such as: figure representations, cityscapes, landscapes and flowers. The artist lived and worked in Amsterdam until 1924 in Purmerend, Bloemendaal and Haarlem, and settled in Laren from 1929.
