Hannie Bouman was born in 1919 in Willemstad on Curacao. She received her education at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Rotterdam and then continued to live and work in this city. Her oeuvre shows a wide range of interests: she paints cityscapes, still lifes, interiors and figure pieces, as well as cats.
