The oeuvre of the Belgian romantic painter Henri Voordecker includes portraits, animals, landscapes and genre scenes. He became famous in particular with his paintings of market scenes, folk figures in windows and depictions with animals, where he excelled in painting pigeons. At the height of his career, even royal collectors were among his clientele, such as King William I, who bought a panel from him around 1820. His work is mainly located in England.
