When Jan Asselbergs definitely chose to become an artist, he had already had many jobs. He developed into a gifted portrait painter, with a characteristic elegant style in which figurative and abstract elements intertwine. In addition to portraits, he also painted landscapes. Together with Aat Veldhoen he is best known for Rotaprint, a printing technique with chalk on aluminum plate.
