The work of Jan van Rhijnnen is considered to be part of the 'after bloom' of the Hague School. He was a student of the Academy in The Hague, of J.M. Vrolijk and Willem Roelofs amongst others, and lived and worked in this city almost all his life. Painted and watercoloured dune landscapes, forest and river views.
