Drawing was in Johannes Petrus van Delft's blood. Born in Waalwijk as the son of the director of the Municipal Drawing School there, he studied at the academy in Den Bosch. He also liked teaching, he would later take over his father's position and Van Delft taught in Den Bosch and Tilburg, the city where he died at the age of 73. During his career he had many students, including Theo Wagemakers and he was a member of the Vereeniging Sint Lucas and the 'Bredase Kunstkring'. Jan van Delft painted many landscapes, but mainly – like his brother Theo van Delft – portraits. He has captured many prominent figures in paint, such as Cardinal Van Rossum and Princess Juliana. His work can be found in the collection of the Noordbrabants Museum. Meer over deze brontekstBrontekst vereist voor aanvullende vertaalinformatie Feedback sturen Zijvensters
