Johannes Baptist Mulders was a teacher at the H.B.S. in Den Helder and also gave drawing lessons at Evening School, among others to Anton Pieck and his twin brother Henri. He was born in Den Helder, stayed briefly in Haarlem, and lived and worked in Steenwijk from 1919 until his death in 1934. In addition to being a draftsman and painter, Mulders was also a batik artist and (wall) decorator.
