Karl Heinz Krauskopf was trained as a graphic artist and then studied painting at the Düsseldorf Academy between 1947 and 1951. In 1968 he married the sculptress Gretel Gemmert. From that time on he also added small, figurative sculptures to his oeuvre. His animal sculptures in particular are very similar in expressiveness to those of Gretel Gemmert. A successful artist, Krauskopf took part in numerous group exhibitions in Munich, Mainz, The Hague and Ancona and had solo exhibitions in and around Düsseldorf and Rätingen.
