Kurt Meyer-Eberhardt is one of the most important German animal painters of the 20th century. He received his education at the Weimar Academy. He turned down an offer to become a teacher afterwards: he wanted to be free to go his own way. In 1918 he settled in Munich where he fully devoted himself to painting animals; dogs, cats and horses as well as animals in the wild. In addition, from 1917 he made color etchings of all kinds of animals, which are still widely traded. His paintings are less frequently on the market.
