Maciej Nehring studied for a year at the Warsaw drawing school in 1920, after which he was trained in painting in the city of Bydgoszcz. Returning to Warsaw, the city where he later died at the age of 75, he continued his studies with a four-year course at the School of Fine Arts. From 1933 until the Second World War he headed the department of watercolours and graphic arts at this academy. His work has been exhibited in Krakow, London, Stockholm, New York and Amsterdam, among others. Nehring mainly watercoloured landscapes.
