German impressionist, active around 1880-1940. Max Vogel also worked as a graphic artist and draftsman, and in that capacity made illustrations for books, magazines and postcards. He often painted scenes with (partly) naked children - often in the form of putti or cherubs - by the water; there are also national performances with, for example, hikers or farmers of his hand. Vogel worked in Dresden, around 1922 in Münster, and later also in Munich.
