Little is known about Meta Plückebaum, born Weber. This gifted portrait and animal painter probably worked mainly in the shadow of her well-known husband, the German painter Carl Plückebaum. She was born in Dortmund and then took painting lessons in Düsseldorf from the genre and landscape painter Hermann Emil Pohle.
