Belgian post-impressionist, painter of landscapes, figures, still lifes and of town and village views. He received his education at the academy in Liège, where he was taught by the well-known Belgian luminist Evarist Carpentier. Characteristic of his work is the powerful brushstroke and a luministic colour. Between 1914 and 1918 and the 1930s, the painter lived and worked in Paris.
