Roméo Dumoulin belonged to the group of Belgian painters, all Brussels residents, who were strongly influenced by luminism in the period 1900-1920. He painted powerful brushed, exterior views in an impressionistic style, in which light played an important role. He became known in particular for his paintings of the turbulent neighborhoods of Brussels, beach scenes of sophisticated seaside resorts and charming garden scenes.
