Jeanne Faure was born in Rheden in 1893. When the family moves to The Hague, she visits the academy there. Faure was also taught by Johannes Evert Hendrik Akkeringa in his own 'outdoor studio'. Nature could be studied directly from that studio in the dunes. She mainly painted portraits, flower still lifes, landscapes and horses. From 1933 Faure lived in Leusden. She was probably inspired for this impressionistic work by the cigar factory 'SOPLA' in Amersfoort. In 1980 de Ploegh organized an exhibition of her work in Amersfoort, which was opened by her fellow student and friend Anton Pieck.
