H.P. At the turn of the century, Bremmer was an influential art educator, and also one of the few pointillists known in our country. For him, the pointille technique was a means of shaping the deeper essence of things. From that philosophy he chose to paint simple, seemingly unimportant subjects. He preferred to paint still lifes and landscapes, which he transformed into gems of clarity and harmony with the help of gossamer dots. Bremmer left a small oeuvre, the largest part of which was created in the period 1889-1895.
